Sturgeon biologist Ron Bruch said water clarity was 12 feet last week and is improving. He expects it to be even better by opening weekend. The snow prevents light from sparking algae blooms and cold weather means no run-off events that can cloud the water off tributaries.

  • Green Bay Trout Unlimited will hear from St. Norbert College Professor and fly fishing guide Nelson Ham tonight at 7 p.m. at River's Bend Supper Club in Howard. Ham will talk about state trout streams and look at potential future impacts of climate change. Public welcome.
