Nine fish were registered Wednesday during the sturgeon-spearing season on Lake Winnebago, including three that exceeded 100 pounds.

The total included five adult females, two males and two juvenile females.
The largest fish was 163.5 pounds and 73.6 inches. It was registered at Payne's Point Station in Neenah by Dick Singler of Shiocton.
The season total now stands at 1,341 sturgeon for the Lake Winnebago System, which includes Lake Winnebago and the upriver lakes of Butte des Morts, Poygan and Winneconne. Of the total, 989 fish have been speared on Lake Winnebago, where the 16-day season concludes on Sunday.
"It was a similar harvest today in numbers and percentage of trophy fish — not a large harvest by any means, but certainly quality," state Department of Natural Resources sturgeon expert Ron Bruch said Wednesday.
The season is closed on the upriver lakes.
