Sturgeon spearers caught 18 fish Friday on Lake Winnebago, raising the season total to 526 fish.

Of those, 284 have been speared on Lake Winnebago and 242 on the upriver lakes of Poygan, Winneconne and Butte des Morts.

Friday's largest fish was a 71.4-inch, 94.5-pound female speared by Michael Karls of Hilbert.

The season is over on the upriver lakes; it ends at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Lake Winnebago.
