GREEN BAY – The BASS Masters tournament is off and running in Green Bay. The four day event started June 28 with the nation’s top professional bass anglers in search of their favorite fish on the Bay of Green Bay.

“We are proud and appreciate the opportunity to host the BASS Masters Mystery Lake Tournament in Wisconsin waters. The pros can enjoy the bite of our fish, beauty of our waters, and hospitality of our Green Bay businesses,” said Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp.

“We appreciate the patience of the pro anglers and BASS Masters. We look forward to working with them again as we improve the consistency and parameters of hosting elite tournaments in the state. It’s our first year on the BASS Masters tour. We’re quick studies and we’ll work very hard to make Wisconsin a prime destination for the tour in the future,” Stepp said. “This is a huge event – our thanks to Mayor Jim Schmitt and the Green Bay area tourism staff for all they have done to host the tournament.”
