NEILLSVILLE — In conjunction with Neillsville’s Winter Carnival, the local Rotary club once again will sponsor the Polar Bear Plunge. This event will take place Feb. 23 on the pond at Listeman Park.

This is a good way for local nonprofit groups to raise some money for their causes and let Rotary club members do most of the work.

During the past 10 years, more than $100,000 has been raised by local groups.

Register early, so you can start taking pledges now. There is a guaranteed 80 percent payback plus T-shirts to all plungers that raise more than $50. Qualified non-profit organizations, youth and church groups are encouraged to inquire. Business and company groups are encouraged to form teams for their favorite charities.

Spectators are encouraged to come and cheer on their favorite teams.

For more information: Mail to PO Box 1, Neillsville, WI 54456; or call Bob Venne at 715-743-3211 or Michael Lacey at 715-743-4799.
