The spring catfish bite is in full gear on the Madison chain and this year's fish are bigger than ever. I know of numerous channel cats in the 35" + range that were caught in the last 3 days alone, including this giant 36.5" and 21.3 lber caught by Johnny Waldschmidt of DePere while we were fishing together on Sunday evening.

Again, this bite is just beginning. Catch a few bluegills for bait, cut them into 1" chunks, and head out for some of the most exciting fishing you'll find all year. Monster cats after dark in very shallow water put up a fight that most other fish will never match.
