The warm sunny days have sparked the bite on the Winnebago System. The walleyes are on their way back to the lakes and the white bass are everywhere in the river from Oshkosh to Winneconne and up the Fox to Omro.
Pulling flies in the river for white bass and walleyes is very productive. Out in the lakes, trolling small crankbaits like the new rapala ultra lite cranks. Another easy and productive way to to catch some walleyes is to sit on the reefs just out from the mouth of the river with some slip bobbers and a few leeches or crawlers. The panfish are still going strong in the bays and channels on the west shore of Winnebago.
