EAGLE RIVER — David MacFarland, carnivore specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will talk about wolf management in Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 9, at Trees For Tomorrow in Eagle River.

MacFarland became carnivore staff specialist for the DNR Bureau of Wildlife Management in April after working as the agencyís wolf, bear and furbearer research scientist.

In his new role, MacFarland is responsible for the wolf management, bear management and cougar response programs. He is based in the DNRís Rhinelander office.

MacFarland will talk about the history of wolf management in Wisconsin, from recovery of the population through recent policy changes following federal delisting. His talk is part of a series of public programs being held at Trees For Tomorrow this summer.

The talk is to begin at 7 p.m. in the Education Hall on the Trees For Tomorrow campus, 519 Sheridan St. East, Eagle River. The event is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.
