Len Harris/For

Thursday I was fishing a small trout stream. I was way off of any roads. I am guessing I was 2.5 miles back in and I found this.

It was protruding from the bank. It partially uncovered by recent flooding. There was more of it going in to the bank. I guess it at 300 to 400 pounds. It is about as big around as a large garbage can. There is really old looking wood imbedded in the hub. I was not sure what it was at first.

After a little research and asking a few friends I believe I know with it is. It is a hub and axle from an old mill wheel. I don't know the age of the relic but it seemed like stepping back in time to see it on a tiny trout stream.
