Matthew Hanson of Sturgeon Bay returned to Wisconsin with a first place finish in his division and fourth place overall at the World’s Toughest Mudder held in New Jersey on November 16 and 17.
The 24-hour event spanned 95 miles with no breaks and featuring 420 obstacles.
Hanson spent the weekend completing a punishing physical and mental exercise that few would consider. Tough Mudder events offer hardcore obstacle courses designed to test strength, stamina and mental toughness. Tough Mudder events around the world have raised more than $5 million for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The World’s Toughest Mudder is the final event in the national and international Tough Mudder calendar. The event included over 800 participants.
