TWO RIVERS — Captain Erik Jaklin of Cool City Charters in Two Rivers offers a fishing report for Lake Michigan.
The fishing has been great! Cool City Charters has had much success north out of the port of Two Rivers just off the light in 100- to 200-feet of water. They’ve fished the top half of the water column.
Rainbows are liking the orange and silver spoons and the kings prefer a blue or green flasher with aqua and mirage flies.
The water is slowly warming and is currently at 52 degrees. Cool City Charters has been averaging double digit catches with higher than average weights. The big fish of the week are a 17 pound rainbow and a 24 pound king. The big problem of the week? Clients did’nt have enough cooler space to get their catch home.
