    The lilacs are blooming and the crappies are biting. It is that time of the year again when the crappies have moved up to the shallows to begin their spawning ritual. Most fish will be suspended around shoreline timber and brush but a few will be located along side shallow stumps.

    Water temperatures are now in the upper 50 to lower 60 degree range and the walleyes have finished spawning. The crappies are up shallow and on the beds, and the bass are staged to begin their spring ritual.
